ABOUT NEET 2025

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) – 2024, here in after referred to as NEET (UG) – 2025. 

There shall be conducted a uniform entrance examination to all medical educational institutions at the undergraduate level and post-graduate level through such designated authority in Hindi, English and such other languages and in such manner as may be prescribed and the designated authority shall ensure the conduct of uniform entrance examination in the aforesaid manner; Provided that not with standing any judgment or order of any court, the provisions of this section shall not apply, in relation to the uniform entrance examination at the undergraduate level for the academic year 2016-17 conducted in accordance with any regulations made under this Act, in respect of the State Government seats (whether in Government Medical College or in a private Medical College) where such State has not opted for such examinations”.

The objectives of NTA, inter-alia, include:

  • To conduct efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.
  • To undertake research on educational, professional and testing system to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.
  • To identify experts and institutions in setting examination questions.
  • To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards. 

The responsibility of NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

NEET UG 2024  Entrance Test  DATE:-

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted on 05 May, 2024  (Sunday) from 02:00 p.m. to 05:20 p.m. The duration of test will be three (03:20) hours. The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date of test is declared a public holiday.

NEET UG 2025 Information. NEET UG 2025 General Instructions:-

  • National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) – 2025 will be conducted as per regulations of the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948, and as amended from time to time.
  • Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET (UG) – 2025 does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BUMS and BSMS Courses. The selection and admission to MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BUMS and BSMS seats in any Medical Institution recognized for offering MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BUMS and BSMS Courses is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, respective States, Universities, Institutions and Medical/Dental Colleges.
  • Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will not be considered and such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in examinations conducted by the NTA.
  • Incomplete application and applications not in accordance with instructions will not be considered and are liable to be rejected without any further intimation. The examination fee once deposited will not be refunded in such cases.
  • Fee will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded. Submission of online application and remittance of fee would close as per the schedule given and no request for extension of time shall be entertained. Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the bank account is not a proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by fee updating and generation of Confirmation Page.
  • Instructions in the Information Bulletin may change based on decisions taken by the NTA and other authorities from time to time. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET in for any further updates or information.
  • NTA reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the NEET (UG) – 2025 even though the Roll Number and Admit Card has been issued by the NTA.
  • Candidate’s eligibility for NEET (UG) – 2025 is purely provisional and is subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the MOH &FW/MCI/DCI/NTA/MCC/other admitting Institution as applicable.
  • In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/ terms/ rules/criteria regarding determination of eligibility/conduct of examination/ registration of candidates/information contained therein, the interpretation of the NTA shall be final and binding.
  • The conduct of NEET (UG) – 2025 Examination would be video graphed. The candidates are required to keep their head in upright position and face the camera during the videography so that their identity could be clearly established.

  • Candidates opting for Regional languages would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.
  • In case of any ambiguity in translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

NEET UG 2025 Eligibility and Qualifications:-

Eligibility to appear in NEET (UG) – 2025

Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG)is as stipulated in Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2018.

Eligibility as per related Regulations is as follows:-

  • He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
  • The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and persons entitled for reservation under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. 

The Age criteria for appearing in NEET (UG) – 2025 is as follows:

  • Foreign nationals may confirm their eligibility from the concerned Medical/Dental College/State.

 

  • Eligibility for 15% All India Quota seats

 

  • Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)and Foreign Nationals are eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.

 

  • Candidates from State of J & K, LADAKH.
  • The online Self Declaration of the candidates will be verified at the time of counselling and if found to be false at any time, the candidature/admission of such candidates shall be cancelled and criminal proceed ingsmay be initiated against such candidates.

 

  • Candidates from the State of J & K can appear in NEET (UG)for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University and Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune subject to the fulfilment of eligibility conditions.

 

  • Qualifications and Qualifying Examination Codes

NEET UG 2025 submission of Application Form and Payment of Fee:-

Preparation for filling up Application Form:-

A candidate can apply for the NEET (UG) – 2025only on-line by logging on to www.ntaneet.nic.in.

Before submission of application form, make the following preparations:-

  • The information desired to be filled in the Online Application such as names of Father/Mother and Candidate with correct spellings, Aadhaar Number (last 4 digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/Other valid Govt. Identity Card Number, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, email id, etc. may be kept ready.   • The candidates have to provide any one of the identity details as given below:

NEET UG 2025 Instructions for completing on-line Application Form:-

  • The candidate, before submitting the application form online, must ensure his eligibility to appear in the test. The candidate is required to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and be clear about the all requirements with regard to the submission of the Application Form.

 

  • The Candidate should fill in complete postal address with the pin code and email address (own or parents only) for future correspondence.

 

  • Candidates must ensure that mobile numbers, e-mail ID filled in the online Application form are their own as NTA will communicate through SMS or email only on the given mobile number and e-mail ID.

 

  • Candidate should not give the postal address, contact number and e-mail ID of Coaching Centers in their Online Application Form.

 

  • Candidates should fill Code Number against the column provided for Qualifying Examination passed. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code numbers 02 to 07, then the candidate needs to furnish complete details under the column ‘others’.

 

  • Candidates appearing in Class XII in 2025 should fill-up qualifying code as 01.

 

  • The Application Form other than the one filled in online mode will not be accepted, under any circumstances. The Candidates are not required to send the Confirmation Page of Online Application Form to the NTA. However the candidate are advised to preserve at least four copies of the Confirmation Page along with the proof of fee paid for any future reference.

 

  • Candidates from State of J & K are required to submit online Self Declaration as indicated in para – 3(b) of Chapter-3 for seats under 15% All India Quota.

 

  • Request for change in any particulars in the online Application shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

 

  • Incomplete Applications shall be rejected.

 

  • Candidates are advised to submit only one Application Form. If a candidate submits more than one Application Form, his candidature will be cancelled.

 

  • The candidates should bear in mind that any Online Transaction Password (OTP) generated on the NEET (UG) – 2024website while registering/submitting the form will be valid for 15 minutes only. After the lapse of this period, candidates need to click on the link “RESEND OTP” to generate new OTP.

NOTE:

  • In addition to examination fee, service/processing charges will also be paid by the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking alongwith applicable taxes by the respective Banks. Details of the same are available on NTA website.
  • The candidates must note that after submission of the Application Form, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of Application Fee will not be entertained.
  • Candidates are advised that fee should not be paid from the account/Debit Card/Credit Card of Cyber Café or any other unknown individual, as refund, if any from the NTA, will be credited in the same account from which it has been paid to the NTA.

Method of Fee Payment

  • Payment using appropriate mode:

After completing Step 2 of online Application Form, candidates may remit the examination fee (Step 3) by choosing the following options:

Online Mode i.e. Debit/Credit card and Net Banking:
  • Check the validity of the Debit/Credit Card and keep it ready with you while logging on to website for submitting Application Form. Candidate should enter the information asked for and make payment through Debit/Credit Card.
  • Through Net Banking, check the balance in your account and keep all credentials ready with you while logging on to website for submitting Application Form. Candidate should Login with his/her credentials of net banking and make payment through Net Banking.
Cash Deposit through e-challan:
  • After completing Step 2 of online Application Form, candidate will be prompted to generate e-slip. Print e-slip on A4 size paper-Landscape format from NEET (UG) – 2024 websitentaneet.nic.in and follow instructions given on e-slip and make payment through e challan.
  • Print the Confirmation Page (Step-4) of online application after completion of Step-3 i.e. payment through Debit/Credit card/ Net Banking/Cash Deposit through e-challan.
  • If candidate fails to complete all the steps upto step 4, the final Submission of Online Application will remain incomplete and unsuccessful.
  • Generation of Confirmation Page confirms final submission of Application Form. If Confirmation Page has not been generated, this means that Application Form has not been submitted successfully.

Note: In case, the fee payment status is ot ‘OK’ the candidates are advised as following:

  • If the fee is paid through e-challan by depositing cash in State Bank of India, the candidate should contact immediately the concerned bank to update his/her fee status on the website.
  • If the fee is paid through credit/debit card and status is not OK, it means the transaction is cancelled. Therefore, such candidates have to pay the fee once again and ensure the OK fee status.
  • For cancelled transactions, the amount will, automatically, be refunded to concerned credit/debit card within 15 days of last date of submission of Application Form.

Photograph and Signatures

Candidates are advised to use following photographs:
  • Passport size photographs with white background and focus on face, eyes looking into the camera and ears visible should be used. Clear and latest photograph must be used for uploading on online Application Form and for Counselling/Admission.
  • The photograph must be recent, with no scenery or other objects in background.
  • Photograph should not have cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly.
  • Polaroid and Computer generated photos are not acceptable. Applications not complying with these instructions or without clear photographs are liable to be rejected. Candidates may please note that if it is found that photograph affixed is fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seems to be manipulated or digitally edited, the form of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfairmeans and candidate would accordingly be dealt with as per the rules of Unfairmeans.
  • The candidates must upload their signature in the appropriate box given in the online Application Form in running hand writing. Placing initials is not acceptable. Writing full name in the Box in Capital letters would not be accepted as signature and the Application Form would be rejected.
  • The candidates must ensure that photograph and signature are uploaded in the respective fields.
  • The candidates are required to upload their scanned photograph of size (between 10 kb – 200 kb). The system will allow uploading of photograph with one face only by using the technique of face-detection.
  • Furthermore the candidates are required to carry the same photograph in Passport size to the examination centre as is uploaded in the Application Form. This is needed for pasting on Attendance Sheet on the day of examination.

Information regarding online Application Form and Fee

  • Information related to candidature will be available in the candidate’s login account. If confirmation page is not shown in login account, candidates are advised to immediately complete Step-3 of online Application and get the printout of Confirmation Page (Step-4) to complete the process within the prescribed last date of submission of fee. The Confirmation Page is the only proof of payment and updating of fee in the account of the candidate. Keep at least 3-4 copies of the Confirmation Page with yourself.

 

NEET UG 2024 Admit Card

  • The NTA will provide the facility of downloading Admit Cards of NEET (UG) – 2024 on the NTA Candidates are required to download the Admit Cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein. Candidates may please note that Admit Cards will not be sent by post. When candidate will download the Admit Card, a copy of the same in PDF format will also be emailed to the candidate on the registered email id. The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub-Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination Centre allotted.

 

NEET UG 2024 Instructions to be followed in the Examination Hall

General

  • The Examination Centre will open two (02) hours before the commencement of the test. No candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 1:30 p.m. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic, location of the centre and weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the Examination Hall.
